After a challenging 4-15 season in 2024, the Chickasha Fightin’ Chicks are entering the new year with renewed confidence, a united team, and a belief that this could be a breakthrough season for the program. Head coach Nikki Clay, now continuing her leadership of the team, is energized by what she sees in her players.
“I’m incredibly excited for the upcoming season,” Clay said. “We have a strong group of seniors, and our underclassmen are hungry to learn. This team wants to be coached hard and take advantage of every chance to compete. Chickasha Volleyball has been seen as an underdog for a long time, but I believe we can shake up the rankings this year.”
Leading the charge is senior standout Kyntli “KK” Willard, a dynamic, all-around talent with a relentless motor and elite volleyball IQ. “KK never stops hustling,” said Clay. “She leads by example and gives 110% every time she steps on the court.”
At setter, Zoee Jones brings intensity and drive. She’s made noticeable strides through the offseason and is poised for a breakout year. “Zoee is a fierce competitor and has the potential to be one of the top setters in Class 4A,” Clay added.
Sophomore Ava Brown will play a key role on defense. A self-motivated libero who lives in the gym, she’s constantly working to improve her passing and court awareness.
In the middle, Avariona Sexton brings a quiet intensity and fierce work ethic. A multi-sport athlete, she’s already making her mark with hustle plays and a team-first attitude. “She might be quiet off the court, but her play speaks volumes,” said Clay.
Senior Destiny Howard rounds out the group as a glue player who does whatever the team needs to succeed. Her selflessness and support make her an invaluable presence.
With a hardworking roster and a belief that they can rise above past struggles, the Fightin’ Chicks are focused, determined, and ready to compete in 2025.
