Chickasha Area Players to Watch Presented by FNB Chickasha

GOLF

Bennett Posey – Amber-Pocasset
A junior, Bennett Posey will lead the lineup in the No. 1 spot this season. He’s shown tremendous growth during the off-season, shaving several strokes off his game. Bennett sets the tone for the team with his leadership, composure, and competitive spirit both on and off the course.

Angus Burns – Fort Cobb-Broxton
Angus turned heads last season with a 7th-place finish at the state tournament as only a sophomore. His focus and poise under pressure make him one of the area’s rising standouts. With a smooth swing and a steady attitude, Angus has a bright future ahead in the game.

Ella Tolman – Lindsay
A 17-year-old junior, Ella Tolman continues to impress at Lindsay High School, balancing a 4.0 GPA with top-level golf. She’s a member of Winter Creek Golf Club, the South Central Junior PGA, and the Thunderbird Golf Series. Carrying the No. 1 bag for the Lindsay girls team, Ella is a two-time 3A Southwest Regional Qualifier. In 2025, she tied for first individually and helped capture the PC North JV Invitational title while setting a new personal best. Fun fact: she’s left-handed but swings right-handed.

Zac Howie – Lindsay
Zac is known for his consistency and precision on the course. While not the longest hitter, he’s a fairway-finder who keeps his composure under pressure. Off the course, Zac’s character and sportsmanship make him a respected teammate and role model.

TENNIS

Sam Battiest – Anadarko
A senior leader for Anadarko, Sam Battiest qualified for the state tournament last year and continues to compete year-round. A proud Native American athlete, he also takes part in several tribal tournaments. With his experience and determination, Sam is poised for another strong postseason run.

Gia East – Anadarko
Gia brings unmatched energy to the court. Her lightning-quick footwork and fearless playstyle make her a thrill to watch. Though small in stature, she packs plenty of power and heart. Gia is half of the dynamic girls’ doubles team that earned a spot at state last year.

Kiara Alexander – Chickasha
A dedicated multi-sport athlete, Kiara Alexander stands out for her relentless work ethic. She doesn’t rely solely on natural talent—she puts in the extra hours to refine her game and push her limits every season.

Marco Castro – Chickasha
Marco’s journey is defined by resilience and perseverance. Despite facing personal challenges, including being on his own after his family moved away, Marco has stayed committed to both his education and athletics. His determination and character shine through every match he plays.
