Keaton Mowery- Chickasha High School Basketball and Golf

Chickasha High School sophomore Keaton Mowery is a multisport athlete, playing both basketball and golf for the Chickasha Fightin’ Chicks. In basketball, Kaiden plays the position of shooting guard. Keaton has played basketball for his entire whole life. He started played golf 2 years ago, but this is Keaton’s first year playing golf for Chickasha High School.
Keaton is proud to represent both his school and community as a student athlete. Keaton proclaimed, “It means a lot to me, because we are representing both our community and our school. We need to perform our best, and play the hardest for the people that support us.”
In regards to his biggest role model, Keaton looks towards family as the source. Keaton stated, “My dad is my biggest role model, because he has taught me to be a respectful person, and a good young man.”
As a Christian, faith plays an important role in Keaton’s life, and is his biggest motivation. Keaton explained, “My motivation is doing everything in life as if it is for Jesus, so why not do my best.”
In terms of what has made Keaton successful in sports, Keaton elated, “To be successful in sports, it takes sacrifice and hard work every single day. My faith in Jesus Christ is important so that I am strong during the highs and lows.
During the course of a student athlete’s academic journey, there is often someone on that road that stood out. Keaton stated, “The teacher that made the biggest influence in my life was Mrs. Cooper, my 6th grade teacher from Pioneer. She always made learning fun and always had a positive attitude.”
Besides playing basketball and golf for Chickasha High School, Kaiden is also a member of The Fellowship of Christian Athletes, as we as being a member of The FFA Organization. In addition, Keaton loves to hunt and fish as much as he can.
Keaton plans on pursuing higher education after graduating from high school. Keaton stated, “After graduating from high school, I am planning on going to college for Construction Management at Oklahoma State University. “
