Chickasha High School senior Javier Nieto is more than just the voice of the offense, he is a leader shaped by discipline, family and a relentless drive to improve.

Nieto, who will enter his senior season at quarterback, said his biggest inspiration comes from his parents. “My parents inspire me the most,” Nieto said. “All the stuff they do to get me to where I need to be today.”

That foundation has helped him grow into a key figure for the Fightin’ Chicks, both on and off the field. Known for his command of the offense, Nieto understands the complexity that comes with playing quarterback. “Playing QB is very difficult,” he said. “You have to know what everyone’s job is and know what to see from a defense.”

Despite the pressure, Nieto embraces the responsibility and thrives in big moments. One of his most memorable plays came against Anadarko, when a simple pass turned into something much bigger. “The craziest thing I’ve seen on a football field is me throwing a hitch to Carson Bowen and he turned it into a 90-yard touchdown,” Nieto said.

That explosive play is just one example of the offensive firepower Chickasha has shown. Nieto recalls another standout moment a dominant performance against Tecumseh during his junior year. “My favorite game memory was putting up 62 points against Tecumseh,” he said.

While the highlights stand out, Nieto values the relationships built along the way just as much. “What I enjoy about playing on a team is the brotherhood and how close we all get to each other and really become a family,” he said. That connection fuels a team determined to exceed expectations. “I love how hard-working we are and how much we want to prove everyone wrong who is doubting us,” Nieto said.

Off the field, Nieto enjoys spending time with friends and playing baseball, but his focus remains on continuous improvement. He credits athletics with teaching him lessons that extend beyond football. “Athletics has taught me hard work and to never give up on anything,” he said.

As game day approaches, Nieto relies on a simple mental routine to stay locked in.

“What I do pregame is calm myself down and make sure I’m prepared mentally for what’s in store in the game,” he said.

With his senior season ahead, Nieto is poised to lead Chickasha with confidence, determination and a strong sense of purpose.
