Carley Ryans is the definition of an all-around student-athlete. A junior at Chickasha High School, Carley juggles a packed schedule that includes softball, basketball, golf, and serving in the student council. Her passion for competition and leadership shines through everything she does.
From a young age, Carley’s parents have been her biggest supporters. Her mom has been there every step of the way, traveling to tournaments and cheering from the stands. Her dad, who works in the oilfield, often comes straight from the job site to catch her games without ever going home first. Their dedication fuels Carley’s determination to succeed both in sports and academics.
Two educators have left an indelible mark on Carley’s life. Coach Chase Johnson, who assisted the softball team last season, has been a mentor known for his strength and ability to lift everyone’s spirits. Although he is moving on to Newcastle, Carley will never forget his positivity and encouragement. Mrs. Miranda Molder, the science teacher and student council sponsor, has also inspired Carley with her upbeat personality and ability to handle countless responsibilities with grace.
One of Carley’s favorite memories was competing in regionals as an underdog against top teams like Weatherford. Despite the loss, the way her team played with heart and refused to quit is something she will always treasure.
Balancing academics with multiple sports can be challenging. Carley believes showing up to class and communicating with teachers is crucial. “If you reach out, most teachers will appreciate it and work with you,” she says. Her advice to fellow athletes is simple: never give up, and remember that success comes from the work you put in when no one’s watching.
Carley’s favorite quote, “Things are not given, they are earned,” reflects her mindset. She knows that improvement requires dedication and effort. She also draws inspiration from Jayda Coleman, a four-time national champion whose energy and hustle embody everything Carley aspires to be.
As Carley prepares for her future, she remains committed to being a positive role model. She wants every young athlete to know that with hard work, focus, and the right attitude, anything is possible.
