CHICKASHA FIGHTING CHICKS

Coach: JOE MOLDER

4-6

QUICK HITS:
In spite of being only 18 miles apart, Chickasha and Blanchard will meet for the first time on the gridrion November 8th. Jason Kawaykla intercepted a pair of passes and scored a rushing touchdown in the
Fightin’ Chicks 41-0 blasting of Woodward. Chickasha has won three straight against the Boomers.

OFFENSE

Chickasha returns this season with renewed optimism and several key players ready to make an impact. “We have high expectations after finishing 4-6 last season and missing the playoffs,” head coach Joe Molder said. “We have several starters returning on offense and defense and very talented young players that will make an immediate impact on Friday nights.” The Fighting Chicks’ offense will be driven by a spread formation with a focus on running the ball out of multiple sets. Senior tackle Ryan Hicks (6-3, 270, Sr.) will anchor the offensive line, bringing size and experience to the forefront. In the backfield, senior running back Justin Cordova (6-1, 215, Sr.) is expected to play a pivotal role. “We emphasize dominating the run game and getting the ball to our dynamic players,” Molder said. Junior quarterback Jason Kawaykla (6-1, 180, Jr.) will lead the offense, supported by senior wide receiver Blake Dominguez (5-11, 165, Sr.) and sophomore wide receiver Aiden Williams (6-0, 175, So.), who started every game as a freshman. “We aim to keep it simple, use the same concepts and terminology to minimize thinking, and protect the football,” Molder added.

DEFENSE

The Fighting Chicks’ defense, under the guidance of co-defensive coordinators Chris Peschl and Nathan McGregor, will operate from a 4-2-5 and 4-3 base. “Our philosophy is built on effort, getting eleven hats to the ball, and keeping it simple,” Molder explained. Senior linebackers Tyren Alexander (6-1, 190, Sr.) and Justin Cordova (6-1, 215, Sr.) are set to lead the defense with their physicality and leadership. The defensive line features junior Eli Walker (6-2, 240, Jr.), who brings power and size to the trenches. In the secondary, sophomore defensive back Kylen Miller (5-9, 155, So.) will provide solid coverage. “We emphasize takeaways and keeping our shoulders square, reading our keys and firing,” Molder said. With four returning starters, the defense aims to be a formidable unit this season.
