VYPE: How did your season turn out and what were your goals?
KK: Although we didn’t have a winning season, I’d say we did well this year. We had many girls adjusting to new positions, and we all had to adjust to each other. My goals for this season were to make an impact on the team and develop new and strong relationships with my teammates.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
KK: The most fun I have had in the past year is going to open gyms for club volleyball. Me and many other girls go and play volleyball for hours and it’s fun to get to know more people who have a passion for volleyball.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
KK: My favorite teacher of all time is my eighth grade science teacher, Mrs. Leonard. I have so many memories from her and her class and she made a great impact on my life.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
KK: I have many good memories from this volleyball season, but one of my favorites is when Madison Walker came up to me after I just played a varsity game and told me she felt like a mom watching her kid play.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
KK: The teammate that has left the biggest impact on me is Jaedyn Brown. She is a great role model for me and many other people. Anytime anything bad would happen she would always be there to pick me up, and she was very supportive of me and the team. It was great getting to know her on and off the court.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
KK: My favorite part about being on a team is getting to know new people. When you’re on a team you get to meet many people who have things in common with you and you can create the greatest friendships.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
KK: If I could go on any vacation, I would go to the Sea of Stars in the Maldives. I would bring my family, my best friend Addi, and her family.
VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing volleyball?
KK: I started playing volleyball in the seventh grade and fell in love with the sport. I tried out for club volleyball and started understanding that this is what I wanted to do.
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
KK: Out of all the people I could thank, I would like to thank my Dad. When I first started playing volleyball he had no clue what was going on. Over the years he has spent lots of time watching videos on YouTube, Instagram, etc. to get to know the game so he can give me tips after every game. He only missed one game this season and I am so grateful to have a Dad like him.
