9 Questions with Chickasha’s Cash Bratt – Wrestling Spotlight – Presented by Shelter Insurance – Gerron Smith Insurance Agency LLC

VYPE: What grade are you in, and what sports do you play?

Cash: I am a sophomore at Chickasha High School, and I am a wrestler.

VYPE: What has been the highlight moment of your career?

Cash: That’s an easy one. The highlight of my career came last year when my team, The Chickasha Fight’n Chicks, dominated the competition and brought home Chickasha’s first Dual State and Team State Titles. To top it off, I also brought home my first individual State Title, as a Freshman.

VYPE: What has it taken to be successful in your sport?

Cash: There are so many things that go into being a great wrestler. Hard work, dedication, discipline, sacrifice, and embracing the grind are what we as wrestlers live by. I have also spent countless hours in the wrestling room, the weight room, and competing in tournaments across the country to get to where I am today.

VYPE: What does it mean to you to represent your school and community when you wrestle?

Cash: It means the world to me to represent my school, my team, my coaches, and my family. I take it very personally and always do my best to represent them well.

VYPE: What motivates you?

Cash: Being the absolute best that I can be and leaving my mark on Chickasha High School, as well as making it to the next level and wrestling in college.

VYPE: Is there an opponent that you enjoy beating the most?

Cash: No, not necessarily. I don’t have a particular individual that I enjoy beating more than any other. I look at and take on each opponent the same. If you toe the line across from me, be ready to go to war.

VYPE: What does it take to balance your school work and the activities you are involved in?

Cash: It takes time management and discipline to balance my wrestling and academic life. I put in a lot of extra work on my craft, outside of our high school practices, but I always make my school work and maintaining good grades a priority.

VYPE: What teacher has had the biggest impact on your life?

Cash: That would have to be my wrestling Coach, Chad Randle. He has been a part of my life for approximately 10 years now and has coached me. In that time, he has pushed me and guided me through all of the highs and lows and all of the wins and losses. I owe him a tremendous debt of gratitude for helping me become the person and wrestler I am today.

VYPE: Who are some of your biggest influences or role models?Cash: My biggest influencer and role model would have to be my big brother, Dylan Bratt. He has always strived for greatness and has always demonstrated and shown me what hard work looks like. He has been in my corner pushing and guiding me throughout my wrestling career, both in the practice room and at tournaments, sitting in the coach’s chair.
